The Torah that was given to Moshe (Moses) on Mount Sinai, and the rest of the books of the Tanakh written by the prophets and other writers, contain many passages that allude to the coming Mashiach (Messiah), and if a person were to read the passeges provided without bias they would see that Yeshua Ha Mashiach IS the Messiah promised to the Jewish people, and to the Tribes of Israel.
Some say, well most say, that the Messiah of Judaism was/is to be a political leader that would usher in the Millenial kingdom but not to suffer and die for his people. It is our understanding that he is BOTH. The role of Messiah is freedom. He accomplished this when he was born to Myriam wife of Yoseph. Let us take a look at the passages that allude to the Messiah suffering for his people.
See the messianic prophesies page to view verses from the Tanakh (Old Testament) that show that the Messiah's mission was/is more than a political one.
While with Christianity the Brit Chadashah or "New Testament" is seen as the primary testament, this is not the case for Messianics. Messianics view BOTH the Tanakh and the Brit Chadashah as sacred and inspired. We Messianics view the Tanakh as sacred and fulfil the mitzvot while staying Kosher and living as Ha Shem had instructed us to do. No Messianic in their right mind would say that the words of Ha Shem had changed. The words of Ha Shem don't change and never will. We Messianics follow the Torah and all that is within it.
